Mad Foundation
HISTORY
In September 1992 the Psychiatric Hospital Veldwijk in Ermelo (Holland) and the Clinica de Psihiatrie of the University of Craiova decided to cooperate closely. For strategic reasons the two parties founded the Dutch MAD (Management And Development) Foundation and the Romanian PRO Foundation. Since 1992 the two foundations have undertaken many activities to improve Romanian psychiatry. The driving forces on the Romanian side were professor Tudor Udristoiu and his nearest colleagues, psychiatrists and nurses. Their enthousiasm has made many things possible.
The primary goal of the MAD Foundation is raising the level of Romanian Psychiatry to European standards.
And after fifteen years of activities in Romania our priorities are still the same:
- to advance knowledge, expertise and skills of the different disciplines
- to increase the mutual respect between disciplines
- and to stimulate a more respectful attitude towards the patient.
